The Safety Manager supports the health and safety activities of the Company through proactive involvement in the enforcement and implementation of safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe conditions on their job Site.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business </li><li>Ensure daily inspections and observations of work areas are completed and liaise with supervisors and the crew relating to matters of Brock's Health, Safety, and Environment Program. </li><li>Review and provide feedback to Customer on hazard assessment and risk assessment documents. </li><li>Ensures that all requirements of the Health and Safety Program are being carried out by all project personnel, including management, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other parties working on or visiting the project site. </li><li>Attend job and safety equipment demonstrations as required. </li><li>Coordinate and approve the overall Site Emergency Plan. </li><li>Ensure documentation for orientation sessions as they pertain to Brock's HSE Program are up to date. </li><li>Conduct audits and ensure compliance with Brock's Tool Box & Weekly Safety meetings and provide instructive guidance to the Supervisors conducting the meetings. </li><li>Tracks and maintains all site and area incident trends and statistics. </li><li>Oversees and ensures completion and submission of incident investigations and reports, as per the Brock Incident Management System. </li><li>Ability to communicate Brock's safety mission and manage process while inspiring, motivating and leading people toward achieving and exceeding safety goals. </li><li>Promote HSE awareness and responsibility through safety meetings, communications and training programs. </li><li>Monitor, evaluate, and act on all sub-standard conditions and work practices. </li><li>Establishes and maintains electronic and hard copy record keeping for all site-specific training activities. </li><li>Presents information and helps train current operations and personnel on company related safety procedures. </li><li>Oversees the management of injury case management. </li><li>Ensures scheduled audits of potentially hazardous work areas, practices, procedures and process operations. </li><li>Ensures compliance with Client specific requirements for reporting and communication relating to Health, Safety and the Environment. </li><li>Ability to oversee HSE requirements of multi-discipline projects of various sizes. </li><li>Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing short term and long-term goals and objectives. </li><li>Promote HSE awareness and responsibility through safety meetings, communications, onsite visits and training programs. </li><li>Recruits, retains, and supervises projects based on HSE personnel to assist project teams with HSE management, as needed. </li><li>Provides oversight of subcontractor pre-qualification process and ensures the proper indoctrination of all subcontractor personnel. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years direct field experience </li><li>US Equivalent Certification (OSHA 30, NCCER) </li><li>Basic first aid and CPR training required </li><li>EMT and HAZMAT first responder training a plus </li><li>Proven leadership and client relationship skills. </li><li>Exceptional written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Superior ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders </li><li>High level of professionalism and proactive focus </li><li>Ability to work in diverse work groups and settings </li><li>Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills </li><li>Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and good judgment in interpreting and applying company policies to issues and problems </li><li>Knowledge of policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, provincial, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, institutions, and environment. </li><li>Able to lead the safety culture on site. </li><li>Ability to work in diverse work groups and settings </li><li>Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations. </li><li>Working indoors in an office environment </li><li>Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment is necessary. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations. for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. </li><li>Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. </li><li>Coordination -- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. </li><li>Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches
