In this role you will machine parts to specifications using tools such as mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and perform a normal range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.</p> </li><li> <p>Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments like micrometers.</p> </li><li> <p>Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of operational sequence.</p> </li><li> <p>Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machine process.</p> </li><li> <p>Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment; report and correct and unsafe work practices or conditions immediately.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Multi-task various duties throughout the day; maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently.</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>2+ years of experience working within a manufacturing environment</p> </li></ul> <p>#LI-JK2</p> <p>At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
