<p>Description</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Community Programs Intern will support various functions across the Programs Department, including Community Programs, Agency Services, Data Insights, and general administrative duties. This internship offers meaningful, hands-on experience and training in program operations, community engagement, and data analysis. Interns will gain a broad understanding of departmental processes and nonprofit program implementation.</p> <p>This internship is expected to last 7-8 weeks, from May 7 through June 26, 2025, with a commitment of 30 hours per week.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The statements contained herein describe the scope of responsibility and essential functions of this position but should not be an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload.</p> <p>The Programs Department Intern will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.</p> <ul> <li>Program Support Tasks: Assist with planning, coordination, and implementation of program activities; support day-to-day operations to ensure smooth program delivery. </li><li>Program Evaluation and Research: Collect, analyze, and summarize data related to program performance; assist in preparing evaluation reports and research materials to support program improvement and strategic planning. </li><li>Outreach and Community Engagement: Help create outreach materials; assist with partner, stakeholders, and participant communication </li><li>Support community events and engagement initiatives. </li><li>Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, scheduling, preparing meeting materials, and maintaining accurate records and files. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>The following are preferred qualifications for the candidate; however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management.</p> <ul> <li>Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university majoring in Social Work, Nutrition, Psychology, Non- Profit Management, or related field of study at the time of application. </li><li>Minimum 2.5 GPA </li><li>Must be classified as a sophomore or higher at the time the internship begins. </li><li>Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of insurance required </li><li>Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot, cold and/or humid conditions. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
