Come join us and shine brighter together.</p> <p>As a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist at our Murfreesboro center you will independently operate sonographic equipment, and perform and communicate the results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Taking a patient centered approach, you will assure that services are provided within professional standards and that a high standard of medical ethics is maintained. You'll also remain self-motivated to increase your level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>(85%) Sonographic Examination</p> <ul> <li>Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including breast, </li></ul> <p>ABI and a full range of other sonography examinations</p> <ul> <li>Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the </li></ul> <p>examination</p> <ul> <li>Obtains and reviews the requisition for examination in order to be aware of information </li></ul> <p>such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special</p> <p>requirements</p> <ul> <li>Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as </li></ul> <p>appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images</p> <ul> <li>Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate </li></ul> <p>between normal and pathologic findings</p> <ul> <li>Independently initiates additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum </li></ul> <p>diagnostic results (e.g., endovaginal exam, Doppler, etc.)</p> <ul> <li>Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and </li></ul> <p>communicates findings to the appropriate physician</p> <ul> <li>Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring offices </li></ul> <p>and other associates and peers</p> <ul> <li>Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required </li><li>Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS) </li><li>Provides interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings </li><li>Identifies problems, secures relevant data to identify possible causes; generates </li></ul> <p>alternative courses of action and possible consequences</p> <ul> <li>Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory </li><li>Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and </li></ul> <p>co-workers</p> <p>(10%) Operational Support</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates responsibility and accuracy for electronic data entry and maintenance </li><li>Completes exam billing </li><li>Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies </li><li>Participates in continuous quality improvements activities </li><li>Assists with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise </li><li>Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all </li></ul> <p>interrelating hospitals and referring physicians</p> <ul> <li>Helps supervisor gain support for unit goals and plans </li></ul> <p>(5%) Performs other duties as assigned</p>
