<p>Job Title: Jr. Systems Engineer</p> <p>Location(s): Remote, US; occasional onsite in MD as required - Greater Baltimore area</p> <p>Travel: Please anticipate occasional travel to customer sites within the State of Maryland meetings, design reviews, hands-on troubleshooting, equipment installation, and hardware lifecycle refresh.</p> <p>Salary: $30,000-$51,000/yr</p> <p>Clearance Requirements:</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>JASINT is seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer to join us. The Systems Administrator monitors and coordinates all data system operations including security procedures and liaison with end users. This individual is responsible for performing the following tasks:</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ensuring that necessary system backups are performed, and storage and rotation of backups are accomplished. </li><li>Monitoring and maintaining records of system performance and capacity to arrange vendor services, or other actions for reconfiguration, and anticipating requirements for system expansion. </li><li>Assisting managers to monitor and comply with State data security requirements. </li><li>Coordinating software development, user training, network management and minor installation and repair of equipment. </li></ul> <p>Qualification Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong Written and Verbal communication skills </li><li>Experience with backup strategies </li><li>Experience with multiple backup products, Catalogic is a PLUS </li><li>Experience working in a virtual environment </li><li>Strong Troubleshooting skills </li><li>Work independently or as part of a team </li><li>Experience with Windows Server versions 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 </li><li>Experience with NetApp Filers is a PLUS </li><li>Experience with large enterprise environments </li><li>Strong understanding of Windows Server platform 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 </li><li>Operations and Maintenance; service requests / change requests; ticketing system </li><li>Incident Management </li><li>On-Call rotation participation (weekly) </li></ul> <p>Extra qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Catalogic (Backups) </li><li>VMWare </li><li>Hyper-V </li><li>IPControl (BT Diamond) </li><li>Windows Defender </li><li>ForeScout </li><li>O365 Portal </li><li>AD Related Tools (ADUC, AD Sites and Services, DNS, etc.) </li><li>Azure Portal </li><li>Ivanti </li><li>SCCM </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Fingerprint background investigation.</p> <p>Education and Years of Experience: This position requires an associates degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related technical discipline. A Bachelors degree in one of the above disciplines is equal to one (1) year of specialized and two (2) years of general experience.
