We truly appreciate your interest and understanding!</em></p> <p>The Staff Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Geologist (Long Beach, CA) directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for supporting the Project Manager in planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, and completing scientific projects within the area of assigned responsibility. Staff Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Geologist is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks in the field and office and managing the schedule and budgets of short-term projects.</p> <p>You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities, including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Collecting field data, including groundwater, soil, and soil vapor sampling.</p> </li><li> <p>Operating and maintaining soil and groundwater remediation systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing and completing project deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Budgeting, scheduling, and reviewing field activities, invoices, approving labor time, costs, and procurement.</p> </li><li> <p>Planning and procuring all necessary equipment for project execution.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare operational permits and programs to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and control compliance costs.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.</p> </li><li> <p>Practicing safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Performing other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Engineering or equivalent science degree from an accredited four-year college or university</p> </li><li> <p>1+ year of environmental-related experience, including demonstrated progress in environmental field activities and report writing</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient with Microsoft Office software</p> </li><li> <p>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Solid organization and time/project management skills</p> </li><li> <p>Effective verbal and written communication skills must have legible handwriting</p> </li><li> <p>Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated)</p> </li><li> <p>English language competency</p> </li><li> <p>Have a valid driver's license</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>HAZWOPER certification</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with AutoCAD and related drafting software</p> </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
