Join our team and grow your career in a hospital where everyday excellence meets or exceeds expectations.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <ul> <li>As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Behavioral Health Staff Nurses hold a shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures </li><li>Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Graduate from an accredited professional nurse program </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) </li><li>Current BCLS/Pediatric First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire </li><li>MAB (Managing Aggressive Behavior) within 30 days of hire </li><li>NIH Stroke within 30 days of hire </li><li>Valid Drivers License issued by the State </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems </li><li>Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate time </li><li>Time Management: Managing one's own time and the time of others </li><li>Leadership: Exhibiting a positive attitude/behavior on the job and fostering employee loyalty to the organization </li><li>Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people </li><li>Monitoring: Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action </li><li>Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people </li><li>Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do </li><li>Instructing: Teaching others how to perform duties/tasks </li><li>Teamwork: Employee working collaboratively </li></ul>
