As trainees, students will learn about key aspects of retail operations, including administration, safety practices, and inventory management-while gaining valuable exposure to various career paths. In addition to building practical skills, the program emphasizes the development of leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities to help students grow both personally and professionally and prepare for future roles at GreenPoint Ag.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. </li><li>Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing records. </li><li>Support inventory management by helping with stock counts, labeling, and tracking supplies. </li><li>Shadow and assist team members in daily retail operations to gain practical, on-the-job experience. </li><li>Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. </li><li>Participate in team meetings and training sessions to build knowledge and understanding of retail operations. </li><li>Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a willingness to learn in all assigned tasks. </li><li>Work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive team environment. </li><li>Take initiative on tasks and projects as assigned by mentors or supervisors. </li></ul> <p>Supervisor Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>No supervisory responsibilities </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school students aged 16-19 currently enrolled in school. </li><li>2.5 GPA </li><li>Must be an active high school FFA member participating in a work-based learning program </li><li>Interest in agriculture and eagerness to learn </li><li>Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team </li><li>Reliable and punctual with strong communication skills </li><li>Willingness to work outdoors and perform physical tasks </li><li>Transportation to and from the job site (as required by school guidelines) </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Understands the importance of workplace safety and consistently follows all safety guidelines and procedures. </li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately and on . </li><li>Organizational skills to assist with inventory, administrative tasks, and general workflow. </li><li>Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with peers, supervisors, and other team members. </li><li>Eagerness to learn new processes, tools, and systems related to retail operations. </li><li>Positive attitude and reliability, including punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. </li><li>Attention to detail when working with records, inventory, or other operational tasks </li><li>Adaptability and flexibility to work in various areas of the operation as needed. </li><li>Basic computer skills including familiarity with email, spreadsheets, and other simple office applications (helpful but not required). </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is based in a retail agricultural operations setting and may involve both indoor and outdoor work. trainees may be exposed to a variety of work environments, including warehouses, office spaces, and outdoor areas such as loading zones or storage yards. The role may involve standing for extended periods, walking across uneven surfaces, and performing light physical tasks such as lifting or organizing materials. Students should be prepared for varying weather conditions and must wear appropriate attire, including any required personal protective equipment (PPE). Safety is a top priority, and all tasks will be supervised with training provided to ensure a safe and educational experience.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a trainee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time. </li><li>Occasionally required to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Frequent use of hands for handling, typing, and completing basic tasks. </li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb short distances as needed. </li><li>May work in outdoor conditions including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and varying weather. </li><li>Visual and auditory ability to follow instructions, observe safety protocols, and operate in a safe manner. </li></ul> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>No travel is required for this position.</p> <p>Other Duties</p> <p>Please note this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
