With an environment that encourages and assists each person in developing to their highest potential, a career at A-dec is incredibly rewarding.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The LME (Limited Maintenance Electrician) Technician III maintains plant equipment at optimum efficiency with a focus on maintaining CNC (Computer Numeric Control equipment. Uses extensive knowledge in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance practices to drive continuous improvement in machine reliability. Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and experience to resolve technical, mechanical, electrical, and programming problems that may occur. Develops and trains Maintenance Apprentices and works with operations to improve machine efficiencies.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Works with Supervisor and Unit Specialist to perform advanced technical machine electrical and mechanical repairs. Works independently with limited support and guidance from leaders and others. </li><li>Leads project teams within Maintenance and provides direction to other mechanics for specific machine reliability projects. Provides mentorship for LME apprentices. </li><li>Collaborates and applies innovative, creative solutions for moderate to high risk maintenance-related projects which result in exceeding goals and targets. </li><li>Assists in providing input for new equipment and processes. Works with ME (Manufacturing Engineer)/ME tech, and leadership to resolve quality concerns and improve existing processes. </li><li>Utilizes extensive knowledge of electronic instrumentation such as scopes, meters, etc. to troubleshoot electrical control/drive systems, single and 3-phase power up to 480V, and VFDs (variable frequency drives). </li><li>Collaborates with and often leads maintenance projects to improve machine reliability. </li><li>Actively engages and participates in the department's continuous improvement efforts. Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that emphasize and focus on permanent resolutions to problems. </li><li>Maintains maintenance records in a CMMS (Cribmaster), and orders preventive maintenance supplies as needed. </li><li>Performs basic and advanced preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment throughout the plant. </li><li>Follows and adheres to all ISO, OSHA, and DEQ requirements. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Generally, 7-10 years of industrial maintenance experience is required. LME or other journeyman level qualification in industrial mechanical maintenance is required. </li><li>Experience maintaining and repairing CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment required. </li><li>Working knowledge of power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. </li><li>Knowledge of electrical control/drive systems, single and 3-phase power up to 480V, and VFDs. </li><li>Knowledge of servos, and open and closed-loop feedback systems. Understands control systems, i.e. PLCs Programmable Logic Computers), relay logic, pneumatic logic, etc. </li><li>Understanding of NEC (National Electric Code) and Oregon Electric Code. </li><li>Working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn new computer programs such as CMMS (CribMaster). </li><li>Understanding of tolerance required on production machinery as well as the ability to fabricate repair parts for these machines. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. </li><li>Interpersonal skills and communication style allow for a seamless transition into other work cells within the department. </li><li>Must be able to fulfill the minimum qualifications of LME Maintenance Technician II. </li><li>Must either hold HazMat certification or become certified within the first year of employment. All required licensure must be maintained and kept up to date. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.</p> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
