The Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and connected community where artistic expression merges with innovative research, generating transformative experiences for students, faculty, and the wider public. To learn more about CTSA, visit www.arts.uci.edu. The mission of the Access & Engagement unit at CTSA is to connect CTSA with the community in ways that transform lives. Through several articulated programs, we provide professional development for CTSA students, support the creative community in Orange County, and cultivate the next generation of creative leaders. As collaborators with faculty, staff, and students, we develop projects and partnerships that engage with our community, both internal and external to the university. Your Role on the Team Under the supervision of the Director of Access & Engagement, the Community Access & Engagement Specialist manages community engagement programs that support the professional development and career readiness of Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) students. Coordinates small to large scale programs that connect CTSA with the broader Orange County community. Interacts with present and prospective students, faculty, staff, external partners, campus administration, and community members. Maintains collaborative relationships with K-14 institutions, community entities, and other higher education institutions. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Strong knowledge of program development, leadership training, and student support practices. Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Working knowledge of youth protection and risk management policies and practices Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training 1-3 years Program development, training, and student support Preferred: Thorough knowledge of K-12 and higher education policies and issues, especially pertaining to arts education and access. Working knowledge of creative fields and graduate school pathways. Strong knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population Special Conditions: Hybrid work arrangement available Local travel required, which will be reimbursed Ability to work occasional nights and weekends Position is a two-year contract, part-time, 50% position Total Compensation In addition to the salary range listed below, we offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
