<p>Swim Instructors help swimming students develop comfort in the water and improve their swimming skills. Comet Aquatics is looking for competent and organized swimming teachers to join our learn-to-swim program. Your primary role will be to teach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water.</p> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the condition of all equipment each time it is use, that equipment is used correctly, and that safety standards are followed during teaching sessions. </li><li>Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer and provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques. Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance. </li><li>To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Competent and comfortable swimmers are preferred. Classes and students may be assigned based on an instructor's swimming strength. (For example, if you can't do the butterfly, we won't ask you to teach the butterfly). </li><li>Training and capacity to provide first aid in case of emergency. </li></ul> <p>Eligibility:</p> <ul> <li>Persons (16+) who are non-students are eligible for this position. </li><li>Lifeguard or CPR certification is preferred. </li><li>Pay is $16.00/hour. </li></ul> <p>Background Check and Documents:</p> <ul> <li>Applicants are expected to promptly complete a request for a background check and agree to submit I-9 documents upon being hired. </li></ul>
