Salary will be determined in accordance with the negotiated contract. Salary range $53,087.00 to $64,848.00.</p> <p>Qualifications: State of New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped Certificate or Teacher of Students with Disabiltities certification required.</p> <p>Reports to: Principal and/or Director of Student Services</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Consult periodically with the Director and members of the Child Study Team in regard to the academic, social, and emotional needs of those students for whom they are responsible.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in periodic meetings with members of the Special Education Program(s) as convened by the Director of Student Services.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the development/revision of the basic plan and the Individual Educational Plan for those students for whom they are responsible in accordance with N.J.A.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in Annual Review conferences in accordance with N.J.A.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in Re-evaluation Conferences in accordance with N.J.A.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement the Individualized Education Plan for each special-needs student for whom the Teacher of the Handicapped is responsible through development of lesson plans and instructional materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide learning experiences that will best meet the academic needs of his/her students.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide a classroom climate conducive to learning by establishing and maintaining appropriate standards of student behavior, as defined by the administration.</p> </li><li> <p>In accordance with district programs and policies, administer pupil assessment instruments, interpret test results and adjust instruction so to best meet the academic needs of the students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain appropriate communication with parents in an effort to provide for the academic, social, and emotional needs of those students for whom the Teacher of the Handicapped is responsible.</p> </li><li> <p>Within the special education classroom, the Teacher of the Handicapped is directly responsible for the Special Education Aide assigned to his/her classroom.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct the Special Education Aide as to the methods of assistance to be provided to individual students and/or groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Confer with regular education staff with whom special-needs students have been placed, on a weekly basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with regular education staff providing in-class support as outlined in students' IEP's.</p> </li><li> <p>Confer with all staff members in an effort to identify, assess, and meet the needs of pupils, when appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise students during out-of-classroom activities</p> </li><li> <p>Enforce school rules and regulations as directed by the Administration and Board Policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Upon the request of the Principal, participate in curriculum development and revisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in grade level meetings, as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in faculty meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through participation in in-service programs, workshops, courses, seminars, etc. to meet Professional Development Goals.</p> </li></ol> <p>Terms of Employment: 10 months</p> <p>Evaluation: In accordance with N.J.A.C. and Employment Contract</p>
