<p>MNRK is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Nashville. In this role you will be responsible for managing assigned areas of accounting operations and ensuring accuracy, quality, and effectiveness in reporting.</p> <p>What You Will Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating with the payroll team in the accurate posting and reconciliation of payroll accounts </li><li>Reconciling monthly accounts to ensure accuracy. </li><li>Preparing and recording monthly journal entries affecting cash, revenue, royalties and other accounts assigned. </li><li>Prepare monthly roll-forwards and schedules for royalties and payroll. </li><li>Monitoring and reviewing accounting records and related system reports for accuracy, completeness and consistency with department standards. </li><li>Handling weekly expense report check runs as needed. </li><li>Supporting accounting administration/processing for portfolio companies by tracking royalty receipts, assisting with distributions and responding to inquiries. </li><li>Compiling and analyzing financial information and documenting business transactions, as needed. </li><li>Assisting in annual audits to help ensure compliance. </li><li>Producing error-free and timely accounting reports to support month end closing and other accounting activities. </li><li>Identifying errors and potential issues in accounting procedures and recommending ways to improve efficiency and accuracy. </li><li>Special projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What Makes You Qualified:</p> <ul> <li>BS degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience. </li><li>Track record of exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). </li><li>Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative to define and resolve problems. </li><li>Familiarity with financial accounting statements systems (Oracle preferred). </li><li>Understanding of, or experience with general ledger function and the month-end/year-end close process preferred. </li><li>Hands-on experience with accounting software and a willingness and ability to learn new systems as needed. </li><li>Strong ethical conduct and an ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work as a team player. </li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>This is a hybrid role that will require you to commute to our Nashville office a minimum of three days a week.</p>
