<p>Maintenance Supervisor</p> <p>Under the direction of college officials responsible for facilities operation and maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor performs the duties normally required in the trades of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work. This is a full-time,12-month position reporting to the Director of Maintenance. Applications should include a letter of application and resume (include three professional references in resume). Applications can be submitted at www.hendrix.edu/jobs.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Install, maintain and repair exterior lighting systems. Evaluate exterior lighting systems and recommend modifications to improve safety, security and efficiency. Assist in the troubleshooting of controls, refrigeration circuits, food service and laboratory equipment. </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance work on a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment. </li><li>Coordinate minor facilities improvement projects and act as liaison between Hendrix College Physical Plant and outside contractors. Act as clerk of the works. </li><li>Manage minor facilities improvement projects as directed. Duties will include estimating, planning, progress monitoring, quality control and construction inspection. </li><li>Assist with coordination and supervision of maintenance department as directed. </li><li>Assist with material acquisition for the maintenance department as directed. </li><li>Ensure staff coverage for work/projects as directed. </li><li>Act as primary resource for after-hours emergencies and trouble calls. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Ten (10) years experience in building trades and maintenance. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Valid Arkansas drivers license </li><li>Must be available to work flexible shifts, if required. </li><li>Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instruction. </li><li>Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritize work based on various factors. </li><li>Ability to understand and interpret construction documents such as blueprints and specifications. </li><li>Ability to work well with outside contractors and Hendrix College facilities personnel. </li><li>Lifts, carries, pushes or pulls a variety of equipment and tools. Climbs ladders and stoops. </li><li>Duties require walking, stooping, climbing, working at extreme heights and lifting heavy equipment and material. </li><li>Must complete all required training as scheduled. </li><li>Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold weather. </li><li>Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals. </li><li>Ability to safely operate various equipment and tools. </li><li>Lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds. </li><li>Performs specialized tasks during adverse weather conditions and college closures. In the event of unscheduled closures due to weather events and/or other circumstances, serves as "essential personnel" for reopening the college. </li></ul> <p>The Facilities Department will contact individuals for interviews based on applications submitted through this page.
