Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment. </li><li>Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc. </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub. </li><li>Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request. </li><li>Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings. </li><li>Outstanding customer service skills </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to plan ahead and stay on schedule despite unforeseen situations </li><li>Ability to understand blueprints, charts, and repair manuals </li><li>Extensive understanding of how industry equipment works </li><li>Testing equipment for performance and compliance with safety regulations </li><li>Excellent critical thinking with the ability to come up with innovative ideas and develop a reasonable time frame for each project </li><li>Ability to work under pressure and still deliver desired good results within tight deadlines </li><li>Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members </li><li>Ability to solve problems </li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team with the same common goal </li><li>Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems </li><li>Performing preventative maintenance </li><li>Responding to guest requests related to maintenance issues </li><li>Maintaining the exterior of the hotel, including landscaping, parking areas, and building exteriors </li><li>Addressing electrical issues, including lighting, power outlets, and other electrical components </li><li>Addressing electrical issues, including lighting, power outlets, and other electrical components </li><li>Ensuring the safety and security of the hotel by maintaining fire safety systems, performing safety checks on equipment (like elevators), and addressing potential hazards </li><li>Addressing issues related to the building structure, including walls, ceilings, and flooring </li><li>Report the need for any major repairs to Director of Engineering </li><li>Determine the exact cause and location of any fire alarms and communicate finding with management and front desk </li><li>Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and helpfulness at all times </li><li>Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times </li><li>Report emergency and unusual situations immediately </li><li>Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned bySupervisor, Manager, or Chief Complex Engineer </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.). </li><li>Long hours are sometimes required </li><li>Ability to convey information and ideas clearly </li><li>Must maintain composure under pressure </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally. </li><li>Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. </li><li>Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. </li><li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment. </li></ul> <p>Experience: Two - three years experience in related field.
