<p>Job Description:</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>The Woodbridge School District consists of one school: Beecher Road School, a PreK-6 elementary school employing approximately 165 staff members to serve and educate approximately 880 students. A caring, creative community, Beecher Road School models and inspires the joy of lifelong learning, embraces diversity, and celebrates the unique qualities of each person. Woodbridge is one of Connecticut's best towns, and Beecher Road School is the heart of the town. For the 2025-26 school year, the District seeks an elementary classroom teacher for the following position: (anticipated Grade 4).</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Promotes student engagement, independence, and interdependence in learning and facilitates a positive learning community that emphasizes: social, emotional/character development and community building </li><li>Plans and implements instruction to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and to promote their curiosity about the world at large, with knowledge and skills related to inquiry and project-based learning </li><li>Collaborates and closely teams with grade level or multi-age classroom teachers </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of Multiple Intelligence Theory and differentiation for all learners, including those of high achievement and high need </li><li>Maximizes support for student learning by developing and demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and leadership </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Background, interest, and/or expertise in elementary education at the primary and/or intermediate grade levels </li><li>Hold or be eligible for State of Connecticut Certification as an elementary educator (001, 002, 004, 005, 013 or 305 certifications acceptable) </li></ul> <p>SALARY AND BENEFITS</p> <p>This position is a full-time, school-year position.
