<p>TO: ALL TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL BROCKTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>FROM: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources</p> <p>SUBJECT:Steering Committee Members for Innovative Academic Restructuring of Edison Academy (Up to 5 Participants)</p> <p>The purpose of this committee is to bring together a small team that is passionate about educational equity, alternative pathways to graduation, and innovative curriculum design to develop academic programming for the diverse needs of Edison Evening Academy scholars. We're seeking dynamic, diverse, and strategic thinkers to join a Steering Committee tasked with reimagining and restructuring the academic programming at our Alternative Diploma Evening High School.</p> <p>About the School: Our evening high school provides a non-traditional, flexible path to graduation for scholars who thrive outside the standard school system-whether due to work, caregiving responsibilities, prior interruptions in education, or unique learning needs. We're ready to revamp our academic model to better serve our scholars-and we need your leadership and expertise.</p> <p>About the Role: As a Steering Committee Member, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate current academic structures, schedules, and course offerings. </li><li>Research and benchmark innovative alternative school models. </li><li>Engage stakeholders, including scholars, staff, families, and community partners. </li><li>Design recommendations for a future-facing, inclusive, and responsive academic program. </li><li>Develop an implementation roadmap for the proposed changes. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidates Will Have:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge about Edison Evening Academy or/and alternative setting programming and scholar population </li><li>Experience in K-12 education, curriculum design, alternative education, or school leadership. </li><li>Deep commitment to equity, scholar-centered learning, and flexible pathways to graduation. </li><li>Strong collaboration, analysis, and communication skills. </li><li>A creative mindset and a practical understanding of implementation in public school systems. </li></ul> <p>Time Commitment:</p> <ul> <li>Monthly in-person or virtual meetings (evening hours to reflect the school's programming). </li><li>Periodic working groups and stakeholder engagements. </li><li>Estimated time: 4-6 hours per week for 6 weeks </li></ul> <p>Compensation: Professional Development Local Funds</p> <p>Stipend: $1,100</p>
