<p>JOB INFORMATION</p> <p>This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the year and reviewed based on department need. Should a review of your application result in the intent to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted by phone for an interview.</p> <p>The Education Department seeks part-time faculty to support the Bachelor of Applied Science in Education (BASE) program with a specialized focus on curriculum development in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education and/or special education (SPED).</p> <p>This role emphasizes the design, refinement, and delivery of standards-aligned, equity-centered curriculum for adult learners in upper-division coursework (300-400 level), ensuring alignment with:</p> <ul> <li>Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) </li><li>Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) </li><li>InTASC standards </li></ul> <p>Part-time faculty contribute to a collaborative consortium model and support high-quality, accessible, and practice-based educator preparation. Any applicants who earned academic credentials from outside of the United States and wish to use those credits for consideration must also upload an evaluation of college credit earned at the non-U.S. institution. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Instruction & Curriculum Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach assigned BASE courses, with emphasis on:</p> </li><li> <p>Math instructional strategies and/or Inclusive and SPED-focused pedagogy</p> </li><li> <p>Clinical seminar or practicum support courses</p> </li><li> <p>Design and revise curriculum aligned to:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop course materials for adult learners, including:</p> </li></ul> <p>Course Management & Student Success</p> <ul> <li>Provide clear syllabi aligned with program expectations </li><li>Maintain accurate student records (grades, attendance, feedback) </li><li>Communicate regularly with students and provide timely feedback </li><li>Connect students to college and program resources </li><li>Support diverse, adult, and working learners in achieving program outcomes </li><li>Design/Maintain online & hybrid courses using the consortium Canvas learning management system </li><li>Apply best practices in: </li><li>Online instructional design </li><li>Universal Design for Learning (UDL) </li><li>Regular and substantive interaction (RSI) </li><li>Develop modules that support flexible, place-based learning </li></ul> <p>Practicum & Clinical Support</p> <ul> <li>Support practicum experiences through: </li></ul> <p>Instructional Program Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with BASE faculty and consortium partners on curriculum alignment </li><li>Participate in: </li><li>Course and program assessment </li><li>Continuous improvement processes </li><li>Stay current on program standards, licensure requirements, and instructional practices </li></ul> <p>Teaching and Learning Values</p> <ul> <li>Creates a learning climate of mutual respect and fairness </li><li>Encourages creative and critical thinking </li><li>Actively engages students in the learning process </li><li>Facilitates learning that applies to and enriches lives </li><li>Clarifies expectations and encourages student responsibility for learning ?Promotes learning as a life-long process </li></ul> <p>Institutional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds </li><li>Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success </li><li>Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions </li><li>Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Your application will be scored based on the minimum qualifications, core competencies, and preferred qualifications. If you are unsure whether you meet all of the qualifications listed below, we encourage you to apply and address through your application materials all of the relevant education, transferable skills, and related experience that makes you a great candidate for this position.Please ensure you include all information on your application which you wish to be considered.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Master's Degree in Education or related field</p> <ul> <li>AND- </li></ul> <p>At least one of the following:</p> <ul> <li>24 graduate credits or specialization in STEM, math education, or special education, </li><li>At least 5 years experience in K-12 teaching in relevant subject area </li><li>At least 1 year experience with online course design and LMS platforms </li><li>Experience designing curriculum for adult learners </li><li>Experience with practicum or clinical supervision </li><li>Current K-12 teaching license </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others </li><li>Expertise in math instruction and/or SPED </li><li>Knowledge of TSPC, AAQEP, and educator preparation standards </li><li>Skill in designing applied, competency-based curriculum </li><li>Ability to support adult and nontraditional learners </li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills </li><li>Ability to integrate technology and AI tools into instruction </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PhD in Education with a focus in STEM, Mathematics Education or SPED </li><li>Two years adult teaching experience, preferably at a community college, college, or university </li><li>Experience in Teaching on Special Assignment (TOSA), instructional coaching, or supervision </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends </li><li>This position begins at Step 1. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
