In partnership with the Lead Scholarship Officer, the position takes a lead role in awarding scholarships, reviewing applications, managing scholarship budgets, conducting trainings with campus partners, facilitating scholarship, FAFSA, and financial literacy events, while requiring a strong base of knowledge of federal financial aid. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Review scholarship applications received, run scholarship reports to find awardees, and post scholarships to student accounts. Major focus on high school and new student scholarships (CCP, HS Merit, Tech Prep, In-Demand Jobs, etc.) </li><li>Coordinate and conduct application reviews with other departments, set up scholarship listings, and manage applications of Sinclair Foundation and Board of Trustees </li><li>Direct support of fee payment by ensuring external (outside) scholarship funds are posted in a timely manner. Field requests from community agencies to market scholarships to students </li><li>Maintain and update scholarship webpage and all links. Monitor spending of Board of Trustees and Sinclair Foundation scholarships. Take a lead role in the Sinclair Financial Literacy </li></ul> <p>Committee by co-organizing on-campus events, coordinating staff/faculty/student volunteers, engaging with students, and developing activities</p> <ul> <li>Present or participate in scholarship open houses, Sinclair Talks, FAFSA Workshops, collaborative meetings, and trainings (in conjunction with Lead Scholarship Officer) to reinforce student and staff awareness of scholarship program requirements </li><li>Respond to scholarship questions received via telephone or the scholarships email inbox; if necessary, make referrals to appropriate office or department </li><li>Award funds according to US Department of Education regulations, and in keeping with scholarship agreements and requirements </li><li>Strong customer service and/or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude of approachability, ability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success </li><li>Some evening and weekend work hours are required for special events (1-2 events per semester) </li><li>Participate in other duties as assigned and requested by the Lead Scholarship Officer, AVP/Director, Associate Director, or Assistant Director(s) </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent if more than 5 years' financial aid experience OR minimum of an associate's degree with 2-5 years of financial aid experience OR bachelor's degree with less than 2 years of financial aid experience </li><li>Previous work experience in collaborating with teams' stakeholders required </li><li>Strong organizational, accounting, and analytical skills required </li><li>Expertise in the implementation of financial aid policies and programs required </li><li>Knowledge of applicable financial aid federal statutes and regulations governing assistance programs required </li><li>Strong computer and technology skills and knowledge of financial aid software applications required </li><li>Ability to identify challenges and implement solutions preferred </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills required </li><li>Knowledge of Sinclair College enrollment processes and requirements preferred </li><li>Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while providing great attention to detail required </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Questions</p> <p>Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Which of the following best describes your education and experience? </li></ul> </li><li>I do not possess the education or experience requirements in the posting. </li><li>I possess a high school diploma and more than 5 years' financial aid experience. </li><li>I possess an associate's degree with 2-5 years of financial aid experience. </li><li>I possess a bachelor's degree with less than 2 years of financial aid experience. </li></ul> <p>Applicant Documents</p> <p>Required Documents</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover Letter </li></ul> <p>Optional Documents</p> <ul> <li>Other </li></ul>
