<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under general supervision, the production assembler supports lean manufacturing processes through complete assembly, testing, and calibrating intricate devices to Customer specifications</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs moderately diversified work involving adjusting, fitting, and aligning to strict inspection </li><li>Receive shop orders, drawings or verbal instructions to assemble various products </li><li>Set-up work stations for assembly operations and perform assembly of a variety of products using hand and power tools, arbor and pneumatic pressures </li><li>May be required to observe and inspect work of less experienced Assemblers </li><li>Reports any irregularities found on routing information </li><li>Responsible for operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances, requiring the use of a variety of measuring tools or instruments </li><li>Follows established procedures, drawings, specifications and/or general verbal directions </li><li>May instruct or train other operators </li><li>Participates in continuous improvement processes </li><li>Performs other duties as directed </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Requires writing and math skills normally acquired through high school education</p> </li><li> <p>May require the ability to work hours outside of normal business hours</p> </li><li> <p>Strong hand/eye coordination skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to safely and accurately use a wide variety of tools and mechanical or electronic measuring instruments</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of assembly procedures and techniques acquired through on-the-job training</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and read drawings, blueprint specifications, or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interact and participate in a team driven environment</p> </li><li> <p>Works in accordance with general safety rules and practice</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps immediate work area clean and free from hazards</p> </li><li> <p>Physical Demands & Working Conditions:</p> </li><li> <p>Concentrated mental and visual attention with a high degree of manual dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods</p> </li><li> <p>Repetitive hand motions</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to work in a typical machine shop environment with exposure to oil, dust, dirt, heat fumes, cold, continuous noise, vibrations, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment including earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes</p> </li><li> <p>Requires continuous physical activity such as walking, standing, lifting; at times, in an OSHA designated noise environment (over 85 decibels)</p> </li></ul> <p>Parker Hannifin</p> <p>Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies and systems.
