We look forward to receiving your candidacy and we welcome a diverse candidate pool!</p> <p>Position: 1.0 K - 12 Fine Arts Coordinator</p> <p>Location: Districtwide Position</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Teaching & Learning and Building Principals</p> <p>Starting Date: July 1, 2025</p> <p>The K-12 Fine Arts Coordinator is a key member of the district-wide teaching and learning team at our elementary, middle and high schools. This individual supports the horizontal and vertical coherence of K-12 fine arts standards, artistic exploration, programming and course offerings in both visual and performing arts. This team member provides job-embedded, focused coaching for individual, departmental and organizational growth. A skillful communicator and collaborator with both internal and external colleagues, the Coordinator supports thirteen teachers within and across grade levels. In partnership with principals, the Director of Teaching & Learning, and a high-functioning team of K-12 Coordinators, this individual ensures integrity of programming and the embodiment of our Shared Definition of High-Quality Learning. This position works to effectively achieve the strategic goals of the district, one of which is to foster the love of music and art in our students and families. This position receives six additional paid workdays outside of the contractual 186 days, teaches no more than two classes, and receives an additional stipend for responsibilities outside the contractual day.</p> <p>Qualifications: Appropriate CT Music or Art Endorsement(s)</p> <p>Endorsement 092 - Intermediate Administration or Supervision preferred but not required</p> <p>A minimum of 5 - 10 years demonstrated success as a music or art teacher</p> <p>Experience: Demonstrated leadership, participation in ongoing professional learning in the field, experience with culturally enriching content and pedagogy, skillsets in coaching structures, leading professional learning amongst colleagues, a deep knowledge of how to boost student opportunities and access to the arts through program enrichment, relevant data analysis to support programming, strong written communications and presentations to professional colleagues/community stakeholders, a deep knowledge of current instructional methods that foster arts integration, student-centered instructional methodologies and practices in the arts.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience to successfully engage with the following responsibilities as an individual and as a member of an instructional leadership team:</p> <ul> <li>Engages in the following in support of pedagogical best practices: RSD 10 Instructional Coaching Model, the RSD 10 Vision of the Graduate, Shared Definition of High-Quality Learning and the district's Equity commitments </li><li>In collaboration with building and central office leadership, designs, delivers and/or procures professional learning in the discipline of music and art </li><li>Discerns ongoing curricular, instructional and pedagogical needs through the analysis of multiple data points (classroom, grade-level, schoolwide, district) and coaching observations </li><li>Assists with PLC conversations and priorities </li><li>Continues the idea-generation and integration of current technologies that has begun in RSD 10 </li><li>Supports instructional strategies and systems for the vertical progression of arts and music standards and practices </li><li>Manages the K-12 department's supply ordering and budgeting with building principals </li><li>Actively participates in regular leadership meetings and decision-making with the Building Principal, Director of Teaching and Learning, and fellow content-area Coordinators in the advancement of building- and district-wide goals </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Principals and the Director of Teaching & Learning </li></ul> <p>Date Posted: Tuesday, April 29th, 2025</p> <p>Application Deadline: Friday, May 9th at 4:00 p.m.</p> <p>First Round Interviews: The week of May 12th , 2025</p> <p>Application Procedure for Internal Candidates: Interested RSD 10 faculty should complete a full application on Frontline, inclusive of a current letter of interest to the attention of the Director of Teaching and Learning, an updated resume, and current certifications.</p>
