<p>POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an inspiring music teacher who is responsible for teaching music education to students in grades K-6 and oversee the activities and performances of band and choir students in grades 7-12.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Teaches general music to K-6 grade students. </li><li>Differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body. </li><li>Provides opportunities for music concerts twice per school year. Once during the fall semester and once during the spring semester that highlights what students have learned in class. </li><li>Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals, and music performances. </li><li>Evaluates each student's musical growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute. </li><li>Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students. </li><li>Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse. </li><li>Work with School Administration to determine the number of Band and Choir performances for the year, and the dates and times of the performances </li><li>Work with School Administration and Staff to ensure the proper facilities are reserved for practices and performances </li><li>In addition to "concert" performances, ensure the Band has either a Marching Band or Pep </li><li>Band presence at all home football games and works with School Administration to determine presence at high profile basketball games </li><li>Collaborate with sports coaches and cheer instructors </li><li>Promote and recruit participation in Band through multiple venues, including email, newsletter articles, social media, and on campus promotions and advertisements </li><li>Supervises students during practices, performances, field trips, and competitions/festivals </li><li>Oversee Funds raisers for the high school programs </li><li>Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Principal and other Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent. </li></ul>
