<p>Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30pm-10:30pm, Possible Saturdays</p> <p>Year Round 27hrs/wk</p> <p>LOCATION: NORTH HEIGHTS COMMUNITY CENTER (#35) </p> <p>Provides custodial and janitorial service to the Recreation Division by performing the following duties.include the following. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>Performs Janitorial Tasks: sweeps and mops daily; cleans walls, mirrors, shelves, bleachers, and windows daily; cleans kitchen and restrooms daily, replaces paper towels, tissue, etc. as needed; empties waste receptacles daily; dusts, polishes, moves and arranges furniture daily or as needed; vacuums or scrubs and buffs floors and cleans baseboards weekly at each center; strips and waxes floors approximately every six months, or more often if necessary. </p> <p>Assists with Grounds Keeping Tasks: cleans sidewalks and picks up outside litter around the buildings daily; rakes leaves seasonally as needed. </p> <p> </p> <p>Performs Simple Maintenance Tasks: makes minor repairs such as tightening or replacing screws or bolts in sports equipment, tables, chairs, etc.; changes light bulbs, in indoor rooms and outside lighting areas as necessary; assists with painting in Center as needed; loads/unloads supply trucks as needed; assists with pre-season pool cleaning. </p> <p> </p> <p>Assists with Recreational Functions: sets up tables, chairs, and other equipment for events daily; answers phones and provides information to patrons of Center as needed. </p> <p> </p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>No education requirement, though a High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Six months related janitorial or custodial experience.</p> <p>A Class D driver's license and good driving record are required and must be maintained throughout employment. The complexity, guidelines, supervisory controls, and supervision responsibilities described below are representative of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:</p> <p>The supervisor provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments. The supervisor provides additional, specific instructions for new, difficult, or unusual assignments including suggested work methods or advice on source material available. The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction, but refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations not covered by instructions to the supervisor for decision or help. The supervisor reviews some of the work, with more review of difficult or unfamiliar assignments.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <p>The employee provides some task supervision for Community Service Workers. All supervisors are responsible for the safety and welfare of subordinates and must be familiar with EEO fair employment laws and practices (Title VII as amended, including sexual or racial harassment or discrimination, ADEA, ADA, FMLA) and for ensuring that fair and non-discriminatory employment practices are followed within his/her area of responsibility.</p> <p> </p> <p>COMPLEXITY:</p> <p>The work consists of tasks that are clear-cut and directly related; there is little or no choice to be made in deciding what needs to be done; actions to be taken or responses to be made are readily discernible; the work is quickly mastered.</p> <p> </p> <p>GUIDELINES:</p> <p>A number of specific guidelines are available; judgment is used in locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines; minor deviations can be made in specific cases; significant deviations are referred to the supervisor. The employee rarely makes any decisions that affect persons or situations beyond the scope of his/her job.</p>
