<p>About the Team:</p> <p>The Materials and NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) team plays a central role in enabling Terran R to fly, re-fly, and scale: developing, characterizing, and inspecting materials and processes across all parts of the vehicle. From welding and additive manufacturing to advanced composites, the team works at the intersection of innovation and execution, balancing performance and reliability with cost, quality, and schedule. As we move toward first flight and beyond, the challenges become more exciting, offering opportunities to shape how we design and develop for re-use. With ownership across products, systems, and disciplines, engineers gain broad exposure and drive key decisions across design, manufacturing, and operations.</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Collaborate with technician and engineering teams to develop and perform GTAW weld processes which will include:</p> </li><li> <p>Manual and semi-automated welding - use of equipment, torches, consumables</p> </li><li> <p>Aiding in weld parameter and schedule development</p> </li><li> <p>Bringing new equipment online</p> </li><li> <p>Helping set up the production shop floor following 5S principles</p> </li><li> <p>Completing GTAW weld ops on both development and flight hardware</p> </li><li> <p>Loading and unloading hardware with use of overhead cranes or forklifts</p> </li><li> <p>Installing structural mechanical piece parts and tooling</p> </li><li> <p>Performing dimensional fitment inspections</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches</p> </li><li> <p>Performing visual weld inspections</p> </li><li> <p>Perform precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation</p> </li><li> <p>Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing process, which could include defects in materials, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies in production methods</p> </li><li> <p>Safety: Ensure all operations are being run in accordance to Relativity Space standards</p> </li><li> <p>Teamwork: Foster and inclusive environment for all members of the team</p> </li></ul> <p>About You:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of aerospace welding, weld operator or related field </li><li>3+ years experience with GTAW welding (Aluminum, Stainless or Inconel preferred) </li><li>Experience in using common inspection tools and torque wrenches </li><li>Ability to adapt in fast paced environments </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated heights (training will be provided and reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities) </li></ul> <p>Nice to haves but not required:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with semi-automated welding systems </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of aerospace materials, aerospace industry standards and specifications </li><li>Experience working with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes </li><li>Proficiency with CNC machining, robotics, and/or semi-automated GTAW programming </li><li>Ability to use in-depth familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret blueprints and/or inspections at all assembly levels </li></ul>
