<p>Job Summary</p> <p>General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer at our GA-ASI Research and Development facility in the High Desert.</p> <p>As part of the Research and Development Manufacturing Engineering Team, the primary responsibility of this position is to provide comprehensive manufacturing support for various prototype and pre-production programs. More specifically, this role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and see through to completion, effective tooling and manufacturing approaches to execute program objectives on new and/or existing projects ranging from one-off parts, to composite pod structures, to complete aircraft builds.</p> <p>As an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer, this role involves being the primary leader in linking program expectations with manufacturing execution. This includes taking ownership of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input, part/assembly and tooling estimates, tooling acquisition, coordinating part manufacturing with the respective work centers, investigating and solving manufacturing and engineering issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for providing Manufacturing Engineering support to GA-ASI programs/projects such as one-off part builds, pod composite assemblies and complete aircraft builds </li><li>Primarily function as a program/project-centered Manufacturing Engineer </li><li>Devise and implement manufacturing and tooling solutions for new and/or existing projects </li><li>Regularly interface with multi-disciplinary teams to execute project objectives </li><li>Provide proactive manufacturing solutions through tool design and part design/CAD review </li><li>Provide tooling and part estimates for a wide range of manufacturing efforts </li><li>Lead effort for acquiring and implementing tooling for respective projects </li><li>Oversee and provide direct on-the-floor support for part manufacturing and composite assembly </li><li>Coordinate metrology of parts, assemblies, and tooling </li><li>Design and incorporate shop aids to facilitate manufacturing </li><li>Author and incorporate manufacturing work instructions </li><li>Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement activities </li><li>May support new process development activities </li><li>Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information </li><li>Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company </li><li>Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. </li></ul> <p>We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.</p>
