<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Bellarmine University has an immediate opening for an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. This position will assist the Head Men's Basketball Coach with all phases of a Division I Men's Basketball program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the athletic and academic development of student-athletes and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the development and implementation of a recruiting program consistent with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules designed to recruit student-athletes who possess the academic and athletic skill needed to be successful at Bellarmine University, as well as regionally and nationally. </li><li>Aid in recruiting high-level prospective student-athletes, including daily recruiting efforts, evaluating talent, coordinating depth charts, planning recruiting trips for staff, coordinating PSA campus visits, general correspondence, and all things connected to identifying elite athletes. </li><li>Assist in planning and coordinating in-season and out-of-season practices, including individual skill instruction and team workouts, focusing on developing athletic skills to compete at the Division I level. Provide on-court instruction to men's basketball student-athletes in any position to enhance team performance. </li><li>Assist in the planning and implementing game plans for each game, including development of opponents' scouting reports. </li><li>Monitor the academic progress of the women's basketball student-athletes. Effectively communicate with Athletics Academic Advisor to ensure any academic concerns are being addressed. </li><li>Assist in scheduling games as directed by the Head Coach. </li><li>Participate in fundraising activities for the men's basketball program (camps/showcases) and/or Department of Athletics. </li><li>Promote a culture of inclusion, working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations. </li><li>Abide by and comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University. </li><li>Contribute to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li><li>Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. </li></ul> <p>Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university </li><li>Personal athletic experience as a collegiate or professional basketball player or in a related field </li><li>Excellent organizational, and written and verbal communication skills </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Please submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.</p> <p>Please note:</p> <p>Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.</p> <p>URL: bellarmine.edu</p>
