These responsibilities and competencies listed below may change from time to time.</p> <ul> <li>Current knowledge and experience in cardiovascular, pulmonary disease, kinesiology, biomechanics, emergency procedures, nutrition, exercise physiology, health education and promotion. </li><li>Interact effectively with other professionals in a multidisciplinary team, knowledge of group dynamics, and motivational techniques. </li><li>Capacity to deal with confidential and personal matters as related to all phases of rehabilitation. </li><li>Skill to work in a fast-paced environment, including exposure to all patient elements (i.e., blood-borne pathogens). </li><li>Ability to demonstrate and perform aerobic, strengthening, and toning exercises. </li><li>Must be computer literate and have the ability to navigate the internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures. </li><li>Perform automated functions that fall within job responsibility. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology.</p> <p>BLS certification.</p> <p>ACLS certification preferred.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>At least one year in the current field or completion of three (3) month internship in a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Consistently demonstrate professional behavior. </li><li>Abide by HIPPA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients and other healthcare professionals. </li><li>Ability to use initiative and independent judgment. </li><li>Skill to adapt to frequent changes in volume of work. </li><li>Function effectively in a team environment. </li></ul> <p>THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION COVERS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DUTIES PERFORMED BUT DOES NOT EXCLUDE OTHER OCCASIONAL WORK ASSIGNMENTS NOT MENTIONED, THE INCLUSION OF WHICH WOULD BE IN CONFORMITY WITH THE FACTOR DEGREES ASSIGNED TO THIS JOB.</p>
