<p>PURPOSE</p> <p>Directs the activities of warehouse personnel, including receiving, stocking, load building, customer service and deliveries.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li><li>Oversees the safe and efficient handling of goods by employees operating forklifts or other machinery ensuring that employees receive the proper training and certification, if necessary. </li><li>Oversees and coordinates periodic inventory checks; prepares merchandise orders to ensure that identified stock levels meet merchandising requirements at all times; maintains record keeping system to provide immediate access to current stock information when needed. </li><li>On occasion, will perform the same duties as other yard personnel. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>This job has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and five or more years of experience performing and coordinating yard or warehousing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations and handling of all machinery and equipment; maintains certification to operate such if required. </li><li>Ability to plan and coordinate work processes to maintain and increase manpower and equipment efficiency </li><li>Communication skills sufficient to speak before teams and work groups to explain work rules, product standards and productivity goals </li><li>Ability to read and write work schedules and reports </li><li>Knowledge of basic math, counting and estimating </li><li>Customer service orientation </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
