<p>Middle School Science Teacher JobID: 946</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Middle School Teaching/Science</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/2/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Voorhees Middle School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>09/01/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/16/2025</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>TEACHER - MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal or designee</p> <p>SUPERVISES: Instructional associate, resource assistant and volunteers assigned.</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults; to assist students in achieving the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Plans a program of study that addresses the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. </li><li>Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students. </li><li>Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects. </li><li>Employs instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives to meet the learning needs of all students. </li><li>Assesses student performance for the purpose of informing instruction and to provide timely feedback to students; completes interim progress report cards, as required. </li><li>Provide instruction for the diverse learning needs of students at all ability levels through scaffolding, curriculum compacting, and differentiated lessons; implements response to intervention strategies, modification and accommodations to the general curriculum. </li><li>Consults with colleagues, students and/or parents regarding the educational, health, social and emotional needs of students. </li><li>Assists the administration in implementing and supervising all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. </li><li>Integrates technology in the design and implementation of lessons and encourages students to express learning using a variety of technologies and mediums. </li><li>Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for instructional associate(s), resource assistant(s) and/or volunteer(s) and, cooperatively with department heads, evaluates their job performance. </li><li>Participates in professional development activities at the building and district level through development of annual professional development plans and collaboration with colleagues. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. </li><li>Supervises extracurricular activities that relate to individual teaching assignments or areas assigned by the building administrator. </li><li>Performs such other duties as directed by the building administrator. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE:</p> <p>New Jersey Elementary Education Certificate with Subject Matter Specialization in Science or New Jersey Teacher of Science Certificate</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment </li><li>Master's Degree Preferred </li></ul> <p>EVALUATION:</p> <p>Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state and board regulations/policies by the building principal or designee.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Full Time</p>
