<p>The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is hiring an Assistant Dean for Faculty Excellence: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum to work in partnership with faculty colleagues, the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, deans, and college officers to strengthen a diverse faculty pipeline, promote an equitable, inclusive faculty climate and culture, and utilize data-driven methods to increase faculty excellence. Reporting to Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Faculty Excellence: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum is responsible for processes, programs and policies to assess and advance faculty diversity and inclusion while stewarding faculty excellence.</p> <p>TEACHING AND LEARNING:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and provide support for programs and initiatives related to teaching and learning, faculty development, curriculum development, and assessment. </li><li>Advocate for and implement innovative pedagogical practices that enhance student learning outcomes. </li><li>Partner with centers and units dedicated to teaching and learning to provide resources and support to faculty. </li><li>Provides direction, oversight, and strategic leadership for the areas of Teaching and Learning Excellence, Student Learning Assessment, and Curriculum Development & Innovation. </li><li>Develops related strategies, methods, and tools for assessment of teaching and learning pedagogical excellence. </li><li>Aids the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs as co-lead curricular liaison for the College and supports resolution of academic/instructional issues related to accreditation. </li></ul> <p>CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Work with individual program and department chairs and other faculty to plan for curriculum development, modifications, and deletions; set priorities for resource needs ;and provide program analysis. </li><li>Ensure linkage of programs and curricula to needs of applicable economic sector(s) and current and future workforce needs. </li><li>Facilitate maintenance of relevant curriculum appropriate to the college mission. </li><li>Work with faculty to identify and implement Student Learning Outcomes. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of trends and innovations in post-secondary education. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Initiate and lead discussions on campus related to faculty excellence. </li><li>Partner with appropriate stakeholders, including the VCAA, to engage colleges and units. </li><li>Identify and disseminate evidence-based practices that promote equitable and inclusive approaches in recruiting, supporting, and retaining faculty from underrepresented groups. </li><li>Identify specific support and resource needs of faculty. </li><li>Collaborate with colleges to develop resources and programming to support recognition of the contributions of faculty from underrepresented groups. </li><li>Lead the implementation, evaluation, and revision of resources and programs to support faculty. </li><li>Develop a sustainable approach to deliver workshop curriculum. Update the workshop on a regular basis and offer regular sessions to faculty members and unit executive officers across campus. </li></ul> <p>POLICY AND PROCEDURE DEVELOPMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate the review, development, and revision of policies, procedures, and activities affecting faculty excellence. </li><li>Engage with colleges, faculty senate, campus committees, units and offices, and other relevant stakeholder groups throughout the process of developing/revising relevant policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>COLLABORATION AND DATA COLLECTION:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs team to collect and maintain annual data on unit/campus recruitment, hiring, promotion, and retention of faculty members and academic leaders from underrepresented groups. </li><li>As appropriate, work with external partners, peer institutions, and consortia to share data, resources and best practices that promote faculty diversity and excellence. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>A track record of collaboration and success in coordinating and leading a broad range of academic initiatives in a higher education environment. </li><li>Strong leadership, administrative, and presentation skills, including oral and written communication. </li><li>Ability to think strategically and develop a shared vision. </li><li>A sense of optimism and possibility about the goals and activities of the Ivy Tech Community College in this space. </li></ul> <p>Compensation: $70,000-$75,000</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Master's degree, preferred with evidence of professional and community service, and college service outside of teaching and administrative assignments. </li><li>Prefer minimum three (3) years of academic administrative experience in higher education with at least 2 years full time equivalency teaching in higher education </li></ul> <p>Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
