Analyze and forecast market data to ensure the best price acquisition.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Identifies, evaluates, and selects suppliers for goods and services. </li><li>Ensures requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment are prepared, executed, and reviewed to meet company standards and expectations. </li><li>Provides commodity forecast data to suppliers; establish appropriate order lot size and packaging quantities to achieve optimum material flow and inventory objectives. </li><li>Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers, monitors their performance and conformity, and resolves any issues or disputes that may arise. </li><li>Stays up to date on industry trends, price fluctuations, market conditions and new products or services to make informed decisions. </li><li>Monitors and analyzes costs and finds ways to reduce expenses while maintaining quality and service levels. </li><li>Ensures all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. </li><li>Attends vendor lunches and dinners as well as team events occasionally, to build relationships. </li><li>Coordinates activities with the Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments to ensure all deadlines are met. </li><li>Analyzes market and delivery systems to determine present and future material availability. </li><li>Expedites purchase orders & informs departments of expected delivery dates, while ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is being shared with the Engineering team to make deviations as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience Requirements:</p> <p>High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least three years' experience in business, supply chain management or related field.</p> <p>License(s): None</p> <p>Certification(s): None</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates effectively in written and spoken form. </li><li>Exhibits good decision-making and problem solving abilities. </li><li>Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills. </li><li>Works with minimal supervision. </li><li>Works effectively in a team environment. </li><li>Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment. </li><li>Excellent skills at negotiating. </li><li>Strong efficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc). </li></ul> <p>Work Environment and Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Indoor professional office environment. </li><li>Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure. </li><li>Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer:</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
