<p>Position Description:</p> <p>The Temporary Office Assistant will provide essential administrative and project-based support to the Office of Educational Effectiveness. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual with strong administrative skills and an interest in data analysis and educational assessment. The successful candidate will contribute to various key OEE initiatives, including the processing of Annual Program Learning Outcome Assessment Reports (APLOARs), data analysis projects, and preparations for 2025-2026 Academic Program Reviews.</p> <p>Alignment with Theological Positions</p> <p>The person who fills this position must be someone who personally agrees with Biola's Articles of Faith and who is supportive of the positions taken by Biola as contained in its Statement of Biblical Principles and Eschatology Teaching Position. As such, this person may not speak against or act in a manner inconsistent with these positions during the course of their employment at Biola.</p> <p>DepartmentOffice of Educational Effectiveness</p> <p>Supervisor</p> <p>This position reports to the Director of Educational Effectiveness</p> <p>Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred</p> <p>Work Requirements</p> <p>Non-exempt (02), part--time - up to 20 hours/week</p> <p>This position requires personal attendance at Biola's campus in La Mirada, California</p> <p>Temporary (Summer 2025, with potential for extension based on departmental needs and performance)</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <p>Administration:</p> <p>Monitor the OEE departmental email inbox, triage messages, and forward emails to the appropriate team members as needed.</p> <p>Provide general administrative support, including document preparation and office organization.</p> <p>Annual Program Learning Outcome Assessment Reports (APLOARs):</p> <p>Track the submission status of APLOARs from various departments.</p> <p>Organize and file submitted APLOARs in designated digital repositories.</p> <p>Send timely reminders for upcoming APLOAR deadlines and track extension requests.</p> <p>Assist in creating and formatting web reports based on APLOAR data, posting them to the OEE website, and ensuring proper filing.</p> <p>Facilitate the assignment of APLOARs to Educational Effectiveness Committee members for review.</p> <p>Data Analysis/Research Support:</p> <p>Draft the executive summary for the 2024 Alumni Survey, synthesizing key findings.</p> <p>Potentially process and analyze survey data using statistical software (e.g., JASP).</p> <p>Create basic data visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs) in Google Sheets to present findings clearly.</p> <p>Assist with the Higher Education Data Set (HEDS) First Destinations Data Exchange, which involves collecting and organizing graduate outcomes data.</p> <p>Academic Program Review (APR) Preparation:</p> <p>Prepare initial drafts of customized focus group questions for 2025-2026for2025-2026 Academic Program Reviews.</p> <p>Prepare APR files and folders, including updating links within documents, organizing relevant data resources, and compiling survey data.</p> <p>About the Office of Educational Effectiveness (OEE): The Office of Educational Effectiveness (OEE) at Biola University is dedicated to building and supporting internal processes that ensure the academic quality of our programs. We work to support Department Chairs, Directors, and faculty by facilitating program learning outcome assessment, academic program review, and various surveys and focus groups. Additionally, the OEE is responsible for administering student surveys, maintaining state authorization, professional licensure, and overseeing reporting and communication with WSCUC. Our goal is to enhance academic quality and foster continuous improvement across the university.</p> <p>Required Skills/Qualifications</p> <p>Required:.</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred</p> <p>Proven administrative support experience in an office environment.</p> <p>Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.</p> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).</p> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> <p>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</p> <p>Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <p>Experience with data entry, tracking, or basic data analysis.</p> <p>Familiarity with academic assessment processes or higher education environments.</p> <p>Experience with statistical software (e.g., JASP) or data visualization tools is a plus.</p> <p>Application Deadline: Rolling applications until filled</p> <p>For more information about the Office of Educational Effectiveness, please visit:</p> <p>Office of Educational Effectiveness</p>
