This includes other responsibilities: operational efficiency. monitoring of performance metrics, providing process guidance, championing safety in the workplace and in conjunction with quality department ensuring highest quality standards are met. </li><li>Responsible for leading the commercialization of critical new products across multiple factories. </li><li>Supports change management processes in operational efficiencies and policy. </li><li>Adjustments through continuous communication, training, and follow-up. </li><li>Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts. </li><li>Budgetary responsibilities for both fixed and variable components and how they affect overall financial goals of the organization. Must work to understand cost drivers and report results to entire organization (KPI's). </li><li>Ensures production is executed in a timely manner with a strong focus on cost. </li><li>Recommends and supports investments in equipment and technology in the manufacturing facility supported by financial analysis and consistent with mission and strategy of organization. </li><li>Ensures equipment operational design and flow is most effective for various products lines and production volume. </li><li>Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Engineering/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines </li><li>Works closely with engineering, sales, and sourcing to drive an efficient process flow to meet customer needs and achieve business results. </li><li>Works to drive a culture of safety through all activities and operations. Ensures it is the highest priority and a key filter in how we approach our work. </li><li>Creates a receptive environment for all members of the Manufacturing Team to make suggestions and participate. </li><li>Communicates a clear vision for the company to the Production Team (based on senior management's vision). </li><li>Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects. </li><li>Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests. </li><li>Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations. </li><li>Direct and manage department activities and leadership of logistics function. Evaluation of shipping and receiving methods with weighing cost, timing, and quality considerations. </li><li>Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities. </li></ul> <p>Position Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering </li><li>10+ years of experience in a leadership role </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to continuous improvement with a deep understanding of Lean Enterprise/Kaizen principles </li><li>Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others </li><li>Direction: the ability to organize and direct multiple priorities </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level </li><li>Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2-year time span </li><li>Understanding of custom engineered product requirements from order entry through purchasing and accounting </li><li>Understanding of relationships and importance of internal and external customers </li><li>Ability to multi-task and be responsive to the manufacturing plan </li><li>Lean Manufacturing expertise </li><li>5S training and implementation </li></ul> <p>Nortek Air Management and its divisions offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
