<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Reed Intermediate School</p> <p>Vacancy</p> <p>Band Teacher</p> <p>Vacancy: Band Teacher</p> <p>School: Reed Intermediate School</p> <p>Salary: Per Teacher's Contract</p> <p>Starting Date: August 2025</p> <p>Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:</p> <ul> <li>Valid CT teaching certificate for this position (049, PreK-12) </li><li>Interest in working in a high-performing district in an intermediate school environment </li><li>Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for music education </li><li>Superior instructional skills in wind, brass, and percussion instruments </li><li>Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners </li><li>Effective classroom management skills that promote a positive learning environment </li><li>Willingness to participate in collaborative lesson planning within the music department </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to integrate technology into instruction </li><li>Commitment to promoting a positive culture </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities: The Band Teacher will be part of a two-person team and provide music instruction to fifth and sixth-grade students. The Band Teacher will provide instruction in both a full band format, as well as support small group instrumental lessons.
