<p>About Us:</p> <p>We are a startup building products to transform the trading card industry. We aren't a startup in the traditional sense, though. While we are a small team building new products from the ground up, we also have the backing of Fanatics - the world's largest sports merchandiser with over 900 sports relationships and more than 81 million reachable fans. We have exclusive licensing deals with the MLB, NFL, and NBA and the products we build will be used by millions of trading cards fans from day one. We are out to reinvent the trading card industry, which is a bold and ambitious mission.</p> <p>What does this mean as a member of the engineering team?</p> <p>? We move fast. We have a lot to do and are looking for folks who will drive projects to completion with a sense of urgency, but not at the expense of quality, scalability, and performance.</p> <p>? We think about scale. The trading card market is large and we will be the de facto entry point into the hobby.</p> <p>? We're pragmatic. We think it is the only way for engineering leaders to know the details, make high quality decisions quickly to support the team.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>We're seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale the engineering team behind Topps.com, our global e-commerce platform built on Shopify. This high-impact role focuses on maintaining platform reliability, accelerating innovation, and delivering outstanding customer experiences to collectors worldwide.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>? Site Reliability: Ensure 24/7 uptime, performance, and scalability of Topps.com for global users.</p> <p>? Product & Engineering Innovation: Lead the development of high-quality features with speed and rigor. Guide technical strategy, ensure system security and compliance, and champion engineering best practices.</p> <p>? Team Leadership: Manage and grow engineers and engineering managers. Foster a culture of accountability, mentorship, and rapid iteration. Use data to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.</p> <p>? Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align closely with product, design, operations, marketing, customer support, and external platform partners to drive business impact and streamline execution.</p> <p>? Strategic Roadmapping: Translate business needs into a long-term technical roadmap. Balance near-term priorities with future-facing innovation.</p> <p>? Platform Ownership: Own the technical health of our Shopify architecture and identify areas for optimization, extensibility, and performance improvements.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>? 8+ years of engineering experience; 4+ years in engineering leadership roles</p> <p>? 2+ years of experience leading consumer-facing or e-commerce platforms (Shopify experience a plus) that operated in global markets with relevant knowledge (e.g. localization and regional scaling)</p> <p>? Strong record of delivering features at scale with velocity and quality</p> <p>? Being extremely hands-on and familiar with the latest Front-end tech-stack (Node, Typescript, React, Next) and AI coding practice.</p> <p>? Skilled in incident response, architectural strategy, and risk management</p> <p>? Ability to connect technical execution with business goals</p> <p>? Excellent communication and stakeholder management</p> <p>? Product-oriented mindset with a bias for action</p> <p>Nice to Have</p> <p>? Knowledge of collectibles or fan engagement platforms</p> <p>? Full-stack development familiarity</p> <p>The salary range for this position is $184,000-$230,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
