Position:</p> <ul> <li>Summer High School Intern Coordinator </li></ul> <p>Objective:</p> <ul> <li>A vacancy is available for a 21st Century Summer High School Intern Coordinator to oversee high school student interns working at the summer locations for Gomes, Jacobs, Pulaski, Winslow, Parker, Swift, and Brooks. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees high school interns working in summer programming. </li><li>Interviews and hires new high school interns in conjunction with the Out of School Time Manager. </li><li>Manages the return of previous high school interns working for district summer programs. </li><li>Coordinates and collaborates all aspects of the high school internship program with the Out of School Time Manager. </li><li>Creates and carries out onboarding and training requirements for summer interns. </li><li>Supports and trains high school interns on Project-Based Learning and lesson planning. </li><li>Coordinates placement and scheduling for high school interns. </li><li>Recruits, trains, and monitors summer program teachers mentoring interns. </li><li>Administers exit interviews with student interns at the end of the summer session. </li><li>Holds daily and weekly debriefing meetings with interns, teacher mentors, site facilitators, and the district Out of School Time Manager. </li><li>Engages in goal-setting and progress monitoring of student interns. </li><li>Completes all required reports, forms, and other DESE internship grant related requirements </li><li>Completes other high school intern program related tasks provided by the district Out of School Time Manager. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous summer experience required </li><li>Experience with scheduling, SAYO outcomes, and Project-Based Learning </li><li>Willingness to travel to multiple school sites </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to: School Principal or Designee </li><li>Dates: May 15, 2025 - September 15, 2025 </li><li>Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm </li><li>Rate: $42/hour </li></ul> <p>The New Bedford Public Schools do not discriminate on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, genetics, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions in employment for potential employees.
