<p>Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a compassionate, energetic and flexible individual to work in its Horizon House Residential Treatment Facility. This individual will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide Person-Centered mental health treatment services in a 24-hour residential clinical setting, serving adults with serious mental illness often complicated by substance dependence and/or acute medical needs. </p> <p>The ideal candidate will have direct or related experience in working in a therapeutic milieu environment, facilitating therapeutic groups, conducting individual skills training, administering medications, maintaining clinical documentation, and transporting clients as needed - Oregon Driver's License is required. All shifts available, most emergent need is graveyard coverage.</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES</p> <p>Behavioral Health Aides assess the health and social service needs of individuals through home and agency visits; refer clients to appropriate services; advocate for access to care; and deliver health-related information and education.</p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</p> <p>Works under the general direction of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.</p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED</p> <p>Positions in this classification are not responsible for supervision or lead work. If a supervisor assigns an employee to perform the full spectrum of lead worker duties, the county shall compensate the employee in accordance with the Marion County Personnel Rules. However, positions in all classifications can be assigned to train others-such as new employees, volunteers, or individuals involved in cross-training and special projects-for limited periods.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide oversight and Mental Health services in a residential setting serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness. </p> </li><li> <p>Help to create and maintain a caring and supportive setting. </p> </li><li> <p>Monitor for emotional and behavioral changes and implement de-escalation strategies as needed. </p> </li><li> <p>Monitors for compliance with conditional release plan from the PSRB. </p> </li><li> <p>Reinforces culture of abstinence and recovery. </p> </li><li> <p>Manage milieu environment by modeling pro-social behaviors, assisting clients by guiding them through coping strategies by using grounding techniques and Person-Centered interventions. </p> </li><li> <p>Assist with house management (e.g. inventory, meal preparation, house sanitation). </p> </li><li> <p>Provide individual and group skills training to assist in promoting community tenure (e.g. mindfulness skills training, coping strategies, independent living skills). </p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and facilitate resident activities and community outings. </p> </li><li> <p>Transport residents to medical appointments, shopping etc. when needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor medications and assist with medication administration. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists with drug/alcohol screen UA's as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Work effectively with case managers, crisis workers, families of residents, and others involved to provide well-coordinated treatment.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist residents with daily living activities such as shopping, cleaning, laundry and other housekeeping duties as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Other job duties as assigned by your supervisor. </p> </li><li> <p>Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-person training.</p> </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING (Individual recruitment will specify additional details)</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from high school, or equivalent; AND </li><li>One year of paid or unpaid experience working with the individuals served by the position, or post high school training in health occupations, behavioral or social sciences; OR </li><li>Any satisfactory combination of work, education, training, or experience relevant to the position, as determined by Marion County Human Resources. </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>This position may be subject to the following: Must not be excluded from participation in the federal health care programs (Medicaid, Medicare and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits); AND must not be excluded from participating in federal procurement (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and non-procurement activities (Executive Order No. 12549). </li><li>The finalist for this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check; however, conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual for this position. </li><li>Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history. Marion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualified applicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services and review the driving record according to the Marion County policy and procedure for Driving on County Business. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana. The Marion County Drug and Alcohol Use and Testing Policy can be found at:http://apps.co.marion.or.us/APAP/policy.aspx?p=policy&pid=518. </li><li>If position is within a Drug & Alcohol Treatment program, must be able to obtain CADC1 certification within 6 months of date of hire. </li><li>This assignment is represented by a union. </li><li>This is a part-time, relief, and on-call temporary position, which is eligible for overtime. </li><li>Typical Work Schedule: Hours vary depending upon the needs of the department and program. Horizon House is a 24/7 staffed program. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <p>Knowledge and understanding of general mental health issues of individuals served, training or education in health, social sciences, psychology, or substance abuse fields, childcare.</p> <p>Skill and ability to understand and carry out directions and instructions; maintain confidentiality; interest and skill in providing services to people; to read and write English; must be willing to work hours conducive to individuals served; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, coworkers, and other agencies.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Operates a motor vehicle; sits; stands; moves about the work area; climbs stairs; lifts up to 10-20 lbs.; pushes and pulls up to 10-20 lbs.; moves carts weighing up to 10 lbs.; carries items weighing up to 20 lbs. for up to 50 yards; keyboard operation; rapid-mental/hand/eye coordination; speaks in clear and audible voice; reads at 12 point font; depth perception; ability to hear at a whispered level; exposed to Heat/Cold/Humidity- climate/weather determined outside availability is a must, but the house is a temperature controlled environment; Dust- frequently due to housekeeping expectations; Smoke-rarely, but the residents do smoke cigarettes outside of the home and often the smell lingers in their clothing; Wet area - occasionally due to housekeeping expectations; Common household cleaners - frequently due to housekeeping expectations. Use of household cleaning chemicals (e.g. bleach, cleansers, etc.). Exposure to secondhand smoke </p>
