<p>Job Title: Transportation Engineer III</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transportation engineering projects from various locations, including Vienna, VA, Richmond, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA. The company is a leading architecture and engineering firm, known for its innovative and sustainable design solutions across diverse markets.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in designing roadways, streetscapes, and multimodal improvements under the supervision of a licensed Engineer (PE). </li><li>Perform analysis and design involving interstates, urban and rural roadways, and traffic engineering. </li><li>Prepare programming, schematic, design development, and construction documents. </li><li>Coordinate with design team members to ensure integration of transportation design with other project disciplines. </li><li>Prepare marketing and presentation materials as directed. </li><li>Provide transportation services during the bidding and construction phases, including site visits and document preparation. </li><li>Comply with quality control policies and participate in team meetings. </li><li>Research standards and specifications based on project requirements. </li><li>Develop schematic-level layout and grading plans for projects of low to moderate complexity. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. </li><li>Minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation engineering, focusing on roadway design and associated infrastructure. </li><li>Proficiency in design and production software, including Microstation, Microstation Inroads, and Microstation OpenRoads. </li><li>Experience with stormwater management design, traffic design, and transportation engineering. </li><li>Ability to prepare effective and concise documents and correspondence. </li><li>Ability to make presentations to a variety of groups. </li><li>Client-oriented attitude with a desire to provide outstanding professional services. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PE license and EIT certification are desirable. </li><li>Familiarity with traffic engineering programs such as VISSIM, Synchro, and Transmodeler is a plus. </li><li>Experience with traffic operations, microsimulation, and travel demand forecasting is advantageous. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work in a collaborative and innovative environment with a focus on sustainability.
