We are a four-doctor, innovative clinic with our General Practice downstairs and Dental Specialty upstairs. We can't wait to show you what we are all about! https://salemvalleyvet.com/</p> <p>Licensed Veterinary Technician</p> <p>Salem Valley Veterinary Clinic in Salem, CT</p> <p>Starting at $22/hr an hour based on experience</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <ul> <li>Provides compassionate care to patients and clients </li><li>Taking an accurate history on patients for all appointments, drop offs & surgical intakes </li><li>Administers anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids </li><li>Assists the Veterinarian in medical & surgical; prepares patients for surgery </li><li>Cares for all surgical materials; keeps the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery </li><li>Comfortable reading ECG's during anesthesia </li><li>Keeps accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy </li><li>Prepares and maintains treatment area & exam rooms </li><li>Performs physical assessments and records observations </li><li>Prepares estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients </li><li>Filling prescriptions and working with controlled substances as needed </li><li>Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions </li><li>Running in hospital diagnostics such as blood work, radiographs and cytology </li><li>Communicating with clients via phone calls, emails & text messaging </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred or at least 3 years experience </li><li>Must have a positive attitude and be a team player </li><li>Must be proficient in monitoring and administering anesthesia </li><li>Comfort with basic aspects of medical recordkeeping. </li><li>As the advocate for our patients, an eye for detail regarding patient care is a must. </li><li>Proficiency in setting up common anesthetic equipment. </li><li>Proficiency in phlebotomy and venous catheter placement. </li><li>A self-driven work ethic as well as strong organizational and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS</p> <p>We're passionate about helping you reach your greatest pet-ential - both at work and at home.
