This position requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of inventory control and production processes, and a focus on providing excellent customer service. This person will work on an as-needed basis at multiple locations around NW Ohio.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome customers and ensure compliance with MSHA safety guidelines for site entry. </li><li>Collaborate with team members to schedule, coordinate, and dispatch trucks efficiently. </li><li>Weigh trucks, process customer orders, manage product inventory, and enter carrier details and annual pricing into the computer system. </li><li>Process payments in various forms, including cash, checks, and credit cards, ensuring accurate transactions. </li><li>Prepare and make bank deposits, ensuring sufficient change is available for cash sales. </li><li>Order necessary materials, including parts, fuel, lubricants, safety equipment, and welding supplies for onsite use. </li><li>Maintain MSHA records, including training documentation, commencement reports, hearing conservation, and firefighting plan compliance. </li><li>Maintain additional necessary records to ensure smooth operations. </li><li>Ensure the scale house is clean and organized, providing a safe and welcoming environment. </li><li>Answer phone inquiries, provide product explanations, and offer pricing information to customers. </li><li>In-person attendance is required. </li></ul> <p>Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties and tasks as required to support plant operations. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Safely access and navigate the facility. </li><li>The position will require work outside of normal business hours. </li><li>Prolonged periods of sitting and standing. </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>General knowledge of various office equipment including a multi-line phone, computer, fax machine, printer/scanner, etc. is required. </li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, employees, and other guests to the property. </li><li>Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Word and Excel. </li><li>Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company's goals. </li><li>Willingness to learn, with a positive attitude, dependability, and strong teamwork. </li><li>Ability to work safely and efficiently is essential. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required. </li></ul> <p>Competitive Benefits Package:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Traditional and Roth 401(k) Plans with Employer Match</p> </li><li> <p>A positive, family-oriented culture with a supportive team environment</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunities for growth and advancement within The Gerken Companies</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on training and valuable industry experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Join our team and be part of a company that values safety, teamwork, and professional growth!</p> <p>Note: This job description is subject to change and does not constitute an employment agreement.
