<p>St. Thomas Aquinas College seeks two Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Business Advisors to provide essential guidance and support to entrepreneurs and small business owners. These advisors will help clients achieve their business goals while contributing to economic development by meeting targets for client outreach, job creation, and economic impact. The Business Advisors will deliver one-on-one advisement, group training sessions, and follow-up services tailored to client needs. Their work will include assisting clients with business plan development, financial statement preparation, record-keeping solutions, and marketing strategies.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Provide expert advice to entrepreneurs and small business owners on start-up or expansion efforts. </li><li>Develop and deliver training programs and orientations for SBDC clients. </li><li>Assist clients in creating and refining business plans. </li><li>Guide clients through loan package preparation, cash flow projections, and financial statement analysis. </li><li>Prepare detailed progress reports for all clients served. </li><li>Assess client expertise to determine the appropriate level of service, whether short-term or long-term. </li><li>Stay informed on federal, state, and local regulations related to small business operations and provide updates to the SBDC team. </li><li>Compile client data for performance improvement and promotional use. </li><li>Build and maintain a robust professional network for client referrals. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience in business consulting, small business management, or managerial consulting, including expertise in business and marketing plan development, financial analysis, and financing options. </li><li>At least two (2) years of experience in economic or entrepreneurial development. </li><li>Proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong listening skills to understand and address small business owner needs. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and write detailed reports. </li><li>Confident in delivering oral presentations to groups of varying sizes. </li><li>Skilled in explaining and interpreting financial statements. </li><li>Capable of traveling locally as needed. </li><li>Ability to engage effectively with diverse levels of the business community. </li><li>Proficient in computer usage. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>The salary range for these grant-funded positions are $25.00 - $27.00/hour and continuous employment is contingent on continued grant funding. When extending job offers, St. Thomas Aquinas College carefully considers factors such as (but not limited to) the role's responsibilities, the candidate's experience and education, essential skills, internal peer equity, budget constraints, and market trends.
