<p>ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with an Active Secret clearance to support a government customer in Washington, DC.</p> <p>Work location: Onsite - Washington, DC (Monday - Friday)</p> <p>Clearance: Active Secret clearance</p> <p>Summary: This role will play a critical role in restoring and validating backend data integrity across mission-critical systems, with a strong focus on DoS ECA managed applications. This position is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both on-premises and cloud-based database environments, particularly Amazon RDS. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Wallet, and a strong commitment to cybersecurity best practices aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Restore and validate backend data integrity across enterprise systems </li><li>Ensure database security, availability, and performance in accordance with NIST Cybersecurity Framework </li><li>Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Oracle databases </li><li>Monitor and tune database performance to meet SLAs and optimize resource usage </li><li>Manage backup and recovery operations to ensure data resilience </li><li>Lead data migration and bulk data load efforts across environments </li><li>Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code to support custom application development </li><li>Administer cloud-based databases (Amazon RDS) and integrate with on-premises systems </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve database issues for internal users and external clients </li><li>Assist in planning, designing, and implementing new database solutions </li><li>Implement and manage Oracle Wallet configurations for secure credential storage </li><li>Stay current with all actively supported versions of Oracle Database </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline </li><li>5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in government or enterprise environments </li><li>Proficiency in Oracle Database (all supported versions), SQL, PL/SQL </li><li>Experience with Oracle Wallet and secure credential management </li><li>Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS or other cloud database services </li><li>Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization </li><li>Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and secure database design principles </li><li>Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and provide effective solutions </li><li>Ability to successfully complete a government issued background check </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills</p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting custom application development teams </li><li>Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments </li><li>Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation frameworks </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities </li></ul>
