This</p> <p>position coordinates activities that result in the effectiveness and growth of the SMP program to include presentations, outreach</p> <p>and education, one-on-one counseling, partner recruitment and training, subgrantee agency support, networking, referrals, and</p> <p>complex interaction case work.</p> <p>Incumbent will work in a specialized grant program. This position is paid 100% from SMP Federal grant funding as per the</p> <p>approved budget.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:</p> <p>Subgrantee and Team Member Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership, direction, and technical assistance to subgrantee Coordinators and complex interactions specialists </li><li>Provide technical assistance to Coordinators and team members </li><li>Coordinate team member screenings, applications, background checks, trainings and recruitment </li><li>Ensure successful implementation of grant requirements and Volunteer Risk and Program Management (VRPM) policies and procedures by subgrantees </li></ul> <p>Training</p> <ul> <li>Research best recruitment and retention practices and train Coordinators on these techniques via individual sessions and new Coordinator onboarding, and by conducting group training sessions via monthly Coordinator meetings and the annual conference </li><li>Evaluate subgrantee programs and services to design methods of incorporating the SMP message into established programming </li><li>Develop, coordinate and host statewide training materials and meetings </li><li>Identify, recruit, and assist with the selection of new partner agencies </li><li>Research, design, and train Coordinators and team members on new programs </li><li>Monitor all Coordinators to ensure team members are meeting VRPM guidelines </li></ul> <p>Database Management and Entry</p> <ul> <li>Ensure subgrantee submission of team member activity into the national database by deadline </li><li>Create, update, and provide reports via the team member database, national reporting database, and other programs as requested </li><li>Incorporate and run quality assurance measures within databases to ensure accurate data </li></ul> <p>Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Represent SMP and serve as a leader in various settings and capacities on committees or task forces </li><li>Identify, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with key community and state leaders through leadership groups </li><li>Assist Medicare Program Manager with marketing and public relations activities </li><li>Serve as a spokesperson for SMP to stakeholders to spread the SMP message, educate professionals, and recruit new partners </li><li>Research outreach opportunities and coordinate outreach and education opportunities with subgrantees </li><li>Conduct presentations throughout the state by using SMP materials created by the SMP Resource Center and Kansas SMP </li><li>Staff exhibit booths at community events </li><li>Timely notify Coordinators and team members of fraud alerts and changes in Medicare </li></ul> <p>Program Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Respond to inquiries from the public about SMP </li><li>Review subgrantee performance to ensure effective and impactful implementation of activities </li><li>Provide complex issues counseling to potential victims of fraud </li><li>Document and report suspected fraud and refer to local, state, and national partners as needed </li><li>Prepare and distribute Operation Red File packets upon request </li><li>Monitor the KDADS_Medicare@ks.gov inbox </li><li>Assist in the development and annual review of the SMP Coordinator handbook, program policies and procedures </li><li>Work both independently and as a team to ensure the success of the SMP grant program </li></ul> <p>Work with the Medicare Grants Coordinators to complete the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Act as a backup to answer and respond to calls from the SHICK hotline </li><li>Act as backup to provide education on topics related to SHICK and MIPPA </li></ul> <p>Attend national conferences when requested. Complete special projects and perform other duties when assigned. Provide assistance to the agency during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assist other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments, as assigned, during staffing shortages.</p> <p>Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism.
