Incomplete applications will not be considered.</p> <p>The Office Supervisor is an integral part of Arlington Public Library's day-to-day mission and operations. The position manages three staff members and plans, organizes, and coordinates all library facilities maintenance and management, book delivery among library locations, staff cellphone management, and cash handling for the library. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal skills, and do well juggling and prioritizing competing priorities.</p> <p>Specific duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating library facilities maintenance, fleet support, and delivery operations across all library locations; </li><li>Overseeing cash handling, supply procurement, and staff cellphone management; </li><li>Supervising and supporting three staff members, including scheduling, performance management, and workflow coordination; </li><li>Serving as liaison to County departments and participating in risk management and safety compliance initiatives; and </li><li>Managing administrative processes, contracts, and special assignments to ensure efficient library operations. </li></ul> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED or equivalent; and </li><li>Significant administrative support experience including applying policies and procedures, managing operations, or coordinating office activities. </li></ul> <p>Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising or coordinating the work of others; </li><li>Managing cash handling, procurement, or staff device logistics; </li><li>Resolving and addressing facilities issues in collaboration with internal or external partners; and/or </li><li>Working in a public library or local government setting. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements</p> <p>Background Check: A pre-employment criminal records check will be conducted. It will include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You will be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.</p> <p>Driver's License: The applicant must possess, or obtain by the time of appointment, a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the applicant's place of residence to perform assigned duties and responsibilities at locations other than the primary worksite. If the applicant possesses or acquires a license, the applicant must authorize Arlington County to obtain, or the applicant must provide a copy of the applicant's official state/district driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent upon a favorable review of the applicant's driving record. The position will have access to a shared County vehicle during work hours.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility may be required to support operational needs.</p> <p>Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.</p> <p>Your responses to the supplemental questionnaire are considered part of the selection process.
