Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Hourly Range</p> <p>27.74</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>This position will primarily be at the West Haven VA campus and at YCCI on Yale campus. The RA would be working on a multi-site study that is in its 4th year - they will be collecting data from healthy controls and people with psychotic disorders, coordinating with clinical staff, and ensuring that needed study tasks are performed. The RA will be doing some themselves after training and also coordinating with necessary staff. They will complete clinical interviews, apply cognitive batteries, organize medical assessments for the MD and nurses, assist neurologists with LP and processing samples, and coordinate neuroimaging procedures needed for study. They may also attend study meetings, enter data, keep study staff updated on important study information, Keep research subjects engaged, and assist with study compliance.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ability to work well in clinical or research settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with data management, and use basic analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, Python, or REDCap.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with research participants, team members, and study staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use research analytic software and lab equipment, including but not limited to MS Office applications, data-entry systems, and virtual meeting platforms.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Working knowledge of medical terminology and prior experience supporting research studies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to receive constructive feedback, ability to work well with others and be part of a large work team. Flexibility to work at different work sites. Ability to be comfortable speaking to subjects, clinicians, and staff in an effective and personable manner. Preferred experience working in a research environment and collecting clinical data.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain research equipment and space such as EEG, ECG, neuroscience booths, source documents, computers, and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to ensure that research project goals and objectives are met. May assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments. Recruits study subjects and ensures protocol compliance, subject retention, and appropriate follow up</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Researches and collects data through site or home visit intakes; library research; structured interviews; or through other means for designated research assignments. 2. Records and compiles information related to research data. Codes data accordingly to research specifications. Uses a computer terminal to input and retrieve data and to generate reports. 3. Processes and summarizes data using scientific or statistical techniques. Assists in data interpretation and analyses. Reports on status of research activities. 4. Recruits study participants and ensures that subject recruitment and follow-up are completed per protocol procedures. 5. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. May assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments, procedures, or survey instruments. May assist research and support staff. 6. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities. Required Education and Experience Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. </li></ol> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air.
