<p>DRIVER 1/LIGHT EQUIP-PW/SW</p> <p>PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT</p> <p>SOLID WASTE DIVISION</p> <p>DRIVER 1 / LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR</p> <p>This is a full time position with excellent benefits such as Health & Life Insurance and a Retirement Plan</p> <p>Will be required to perform a wide range of manual duties associated with the collection of curbside residential and commercial garbage, including grass bags and brush; position trucks for loading and drive tandem axle commercial vehicles to haul load to landfill or mulch site; drive various light equipment such as pick-up and dump trucks; flag traffic around work sites; use various hand tools to rake and move materials such as tree limbs, shrubs, etc.; operate trash and garbage collection equipment; perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform strenuous physical work outside in all types of weather conditions. Subject to heavy lifting, standing and stooping. On occasion, may be required to work long hours in situations such as heavy output of garbage and trash. Must be able to drive standard shift vehicles.</p> <p>Must possess a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License, with air brakes, which must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Must have high school diploma or GED.</p> <p>Must pass a background and driver's license check and physical exam, including drug screen. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.</p> <p>All applicants with a CDL must also register with the FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY ADMINISTRATION CLEARINGHOUSE. This can be done by going to https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/register and click Go to login.</p> <p>This is a federal requirement for all CDL holders and this registration must be completed before the hiring process. We will run a full query with the FMCSA Clearinghouse. Query results must be 'Not Prohibited'.
