This role will follow a hybrid work model.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>As part of Wärtsilä's ES&O software engineering team you will be responsible for the following.</p> <ul> <li>Guiding technical decisions. </li><li>Providing feedback and making suggestions to product roadmaps. </li><li>Resource and timeline estimation. </li><li>Contributing features and code to software products. </li><li>Guide development of a data-centric, rich web platform for data visualization, and advanced analytics. </li><li>Manage a team of software engineers by creating goals that roll up to business objectives, setting expectations, and individual performance reviews. </li><li>Participate in an agile development environment. </li><li>Participate in user experience and usability studies to develop and/or improve the UI design and make complex site operations intuitive. </li><li>Develop features and other technical documents. </li><li>Participate in customer facing discussions, meetings, and project delivery. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>8+ years of demonstrated experience with professional front and back-end development. </li><li>Experience architecting multiple web applications from the ground up. </li><li>Experience leading a team of software engineers. </li><li>Prefer knowledge in React for the UI and NodeJS and/or Python for the backend. </li><li>Professional expertise in underlying web technologies including HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. </li><li>Professional expertise in developing REST and Websocket APIs. </li><li>General knowledge of networking, Linux, code testing. </li><li>Experience with setting up deployment of software and troubleshooting issues. </li><li>Experience developing complex software projects in commercial product settings. </li><li>Experience working in an agile development environment using common tools such as JIRA and Git. </li><li>Ability to embrace a fast-moving environment and comfortable with quickly adapting to changing priorities. </li></ul> <p>Desired Experience</p> <ul> <li>Development using Typescript. </li><li>Performance analysis and tuning for high-throughput data ingestion and aggregation. </li><li>Authentication protocols (OpenID, OAuth, etc.) </li><li>Docker or other containerized technologies. </li><li>Experience with setting up system and application monitoring solutions. </li><li>Knowledge and/or interest in electrical concepts, power grids, renewable or green energy. </li></ul> <p>Educational / Professional Requirements</p> <p>B.S.
