<p>DEPARTMENT: Finance</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Controller</p> <p>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Sr. Director Acctg - Inventory, Manufacturing and Costing will drive financial reporting and accounting operations ensuring Capstone Green Energy's financial integrity, operational excellence, and innovative approach to financial management. This role embodies Capstone's mission to make the impossible possible and think beyond the status quo by ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and forward-thinking in all financial and accounting activities.</p> <p>We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Director of Inventory, Manufacturing and Costing. The ideal candidate will oversee the financial management of company's inventory, gross margin and cost analysis, and financial reporting for cost and inventory. This role ensures effective inventory controls and accuracy, cost control, and optimization of working capital while aligning with the organization's financial goals. It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees financial close related to inventory and cost operations for a public company. </li><li>Prepares supplemental financial schedules (monthly, quarterly, annually) </li><li>Supports preparation of Company's Form 10Q and Form 10K, and all regulatory and compliance reporting. </li><li>Prepares and reviews analysis of standard costing, costing of Bill of Materials, inventory reserve analysis and actual settlement of production orders. </li><li>Prepares technical accounting analysis and memos as required. </li><li>Oversees inventory and cost operations to ensure end to end processes are reflected in process documentation, accounting for process activity is in compliance with GAAP, as well as other regulatory requirements. </li><li>Ensures all inventory and costing accounting narratives and processes are reflected in timely documentation, including associated controls. </li><li>Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures; ensures effectiveness of internal controls to maintain integrity of the financial statements. </li><li>Supports audit process by engaging with external auditors and the quarterly review & annual audit of the financial statements for filing with the SEC. </li><li>Establishes and maintains cost and inventory accounting policies, practices and procedures. </li><li>Drives process improvement initiatives to keep aligned with best practices and strategic direction of the Company. </li><li>Responsible for keeping the organization appraised of all financial issues pertaining to company operations; reports out on changes to the business and implications for the cost and inventory areas. </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Financial Planning & Analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Drive gross margin improvement initiatives across the organization involving manufacturing operations, sales and engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>Track and analyze gross margin performance, identifying trends and areas requiring attention.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze inventory product costs and manufacturing overhead, partnering with manufacturing operations global.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage inventory turnover and implement valuation methods to optimize financial performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare financial reports and forecasts related to inventory and gross margins.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess risks and opportunities related to inventory levels and supply chain financing.</p> </li><li> <p>Cost Management & Control:</p> </li><li> <p>Implement cost-control measures to reduce excess inventory and optimize working capital.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure accurate inventory accounting in compliance with GAAP.</p> </li><li> <p>Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration:</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to align financial strategies with inventory needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Improve processes for inventory tracking, reporting, and financial reconciliation.</p> </li><li> <p>Support ERP system integration for efficient inventory and financial reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides leadership, mentorship training and guidance for the work of others within the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct performance reviews, set goals and support career development within the team.</p> </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of inventory financing, accounting principles, and financial modeling. </li><li>Operational expertise; knowledge of general ledger, close processes and reporting </li><li>Must be proficient with spreadsheets and other applicable software. </li><li>Must demonstrate experience within a public company and SEC financial reporting cycles. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where growth and professionalism will be achieved largely through accuracy, creativity, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between strategic and tactical skills and a willingness to "roll up one's sleeves" and get into the details. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to inspire others; show a strong work ethic; set a positive example by providing assistance, recognition and encouragement; to identify and articulate clear, meaningful goals; to focus the efforts of others, and to quickly adapt well to changing conditions. </li><li>Demonstrates an emphasis on high morale, collegiality, effective teamwork, high performance and delivery of commitments, and delivery of commitments. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. </li><li>CPA, CFA, or MBA is preferred. </li><li>12+ years of progressive experience in finance, inventory management or supply chain finance. </li><li>Experience in a manufacturing environment; cost and inventory accounting. </li><li>Proven experience in financial reporting; meeting deadlines. </li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. </li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. </li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills. </li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Active CPA license. </li><li>Experience with process improvement and automation projects. </li><li>Experience with ERP system implementation. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Extensive periods of sitting and computer use. </li><li>Willingness to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek. </li></ul> <p>The pay range for this position is $ $167,000 - $209,000 per year.</p>
