<p>Job Description:</p> <p>NOTICE OF VACANCY</p> <p>Paraeducator Positions ~ 31.25 (full-time), 27.5 (part-time) and Less than 27.5 hours</p> <p>LOCATION: Southington Public Schools</p> <p>SALARY: $19.43 per hour</p> <p>$1.64 hourly rate adjustment for all hours worked and paid time off during the designated school year for the following programs:</p> <p>Comprehensive Learning Center, Specialized Learning Center, Therapeutic Learning Center, STELLAR</p> <p>ASSIGNMENTS:</p> <p>Assignments for paraeducators vary. There are three categories associated with paraeducators:</p> <ul> <li>Program. Attached is a list of programs throughout our District with a description of each. </li><li>Inclusion. Our inclusion paraeducators support the needs of special education students. </li><li>Other. Other assignments for paraeducators could include cafeteria, kindergarten, library/media, or other special assignments. </li></ul> <p>OVERVIEW OF DUTIES THAT ARE/COULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH PARAEDUCATOR POSITION:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work with students with special learning and social/behavioral needs. </li><li>Able to carry out behavior plans. </li><li>Flexibility/Team member </li><li>Lifting of students may be required. </li><li>Toileting and/or diaper changing may be required. </li><li>Experience working with school age children. </li><li>Physical and Psychological Training (PMT) certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Associate degree or equivalent required. Para Pro exam available at applicants cost of $55.00. Behavioral management skills for children.
