<p>Hiring for a Quality Engineer in Shelton!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure the correct application of advanced quality planning and engineering practices to enhance the quality, reliability, and acceptance of systems, processes, and products. You will provide a high level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers and suppliers.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Monitor the performance of product quality and reliability systems. </li><li>Assist and coordinate Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) disciplines, including APQP, PCP, PFMEA, PFC, SPC, MSA/GR&R, Metrology Inspection Methods, PPAP, and Problem Solving using the 8-D and 3 Why methodology. </li><li>Generate and maintain accurate documentation related to quality, reliability, and processes. </li><li>Implement prevention/detection systems to eliminate problems affecting quality and reliability. </li><li>Prepare and present PPM reports, cost of quality reports, and other metrics. </li><li>Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving. </li><li>Accurately file all quality paperwork, including customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, and weekly logs. </li><li>Participate in pre-production activities as a quality representative. </li><li>Complete quality system audits of suppliers on-site and follow up on corrective actions. </li><li>Issue supplier non-conformance reports and follow up on problem solving with suppliers. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>BS in Engineering or other technical discipline. </li><li>Minimum 8 years of experience in a Quality Department within a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. </li><li>Knowledge and experience with ISO9001 and IATF16949 documentation systems. </li><li>Basic understanding of performing dimensional inspections using standard metrology equipment. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred. </li><li>Experience in the automotive industry preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in AIAG disciplines. </li><li>Experience with CMMs, Keyence Vision Systems, or similar systems is advantageous but not required. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment involves working within a manufacturing setting, where you will use various technological tools and equipment. The role may require occasional travel and adherence to safety expectations and company policies.
